1 killed, 2 injured in broadside crash in Irvine 

Tragedy struck over the weekend in Irvine, California when a car accident left one woman dead and two others critically injured. The crash occurred on Saturday evening, just before 6 p.m., at the intersection of Irvine Boulevard and Sand Canyon Avenue. The Irvine Police Department rapidly responded to the scene after receiving multiple reports of the incident. Sadly, when they arrived, they found a white BMW that had been broadsided by a gold Lexus. 

The BMW carried five individuals, including the driver. A 47-year-old woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was sitting in the backseat when the unfortunate incident occurred. The lady was rushed to the hospital immediately, but the doctors declared her deceased on arrival. Two other passengers managed to escape with minor injuries, and the police confirmed that both were out of danger.

Fortunately, police report that the driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officials have ruled out drugs or alcohol being a factor in the crash.

While the investigation is ongoing, we can only hope for a swift resolution and perhaps, some closure. The incident serves as a stern reminder of the importance of caution and road safety. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victims and their families during this difficult time.
